My work as a counselor began as a family counselor intern at what was known as the Minneapolis Crisis Nursery (now the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery). Through my time at MCN, I learned about the incredible strengths that reside in all people, even when circumstances are dire. I remain grateful to the staff and clients of the center who allowed me to be a part of their life’s journey.

During my graduate education at the University of Minnesota, I completed several practicum placements under the supervision of licensed psychologists. I completed two years of practicum training at The Annex Teen Clinic in Robbinsdale, MN. My graduate training continued at the counseling centers at Carleton College, University of St. Thomas, and University of Minnesota (St. Paul Campus). Following completion of my doctoral degree in 2001, I worked at the counseling centers at Gustavus Adolphus College and Augsburg College. In these settings, I provided individual and group counseling to undergraduate and graduate students on a wide variety of issues. During my graduate training and in my post-degree work, I have supervised masters and doctoral level therapists. I have also supervised post-degree individuals seeking both an LP and LPC.

In 2005, I began my private practice, where I work with adults who are addressing a wide range of concerns. I see clients on Mondays and Thursdays in my office in Golden Valley, MN.
